A final demand has today been sent to the CEO of the Shadowwyn Company, who the government accuses of breaching the law by failing to register their company.
Having sold and imported goods for many months, the company has been carrying on a business for profit within Gabon reportedly generating large profits and benefitting from significant business contracts with the government.
But the law requires that all partnerships of 2 or more people must be incorporated by the government.
Local law firm Capitanata and Associates has been engaged by the Lord’s Council in relation to the matter.
The Gazette understands that the firm sent Shadowwyn Co a request to enter negotiations and is seeking compensation for the company’s ongoing breach.
The company has a week to respond to the request before the government will lodge an application with the High Court.
Recent amendments to the corporations law provided for the registration of private companies.
It is understood that the recent defamation act was passed due to the CEO of Shadowwyn Co, EvilxFish, believing public statements made about his company operating illegally were untrue and injurious.
Shadowwyn was asked for comment but did not respond in time for publication.
