(Unsplash)Following the appointment of the Vice Chancellor as the Director-General of the Gabon Public Service, the first appointments of agency heads were announced this week including the First Lady and a former councillor.
After a recent legal amendment, all agencies of the Gabon Public Service now have heads who direct the actions of employees attached to the agency though some of these positions are yet to be filled.
The Vice Chancellor, in his position as director general, has made the first appointments under the new regime.
“All agency heads have, and will be, chosen based on their experience and contribution,” said the Vice Chancellor.
“I have the strongest confidence that my appointees will run their offices with integrity, fairness and create a lasting benefit for Gabon.”
“Other positions have been offered to those deemed a good fit for the role, but if they are not accepted, the positions will be advertised for public application.”
Growth and Innovation Agency
The first appointment made by the was to the Growth and Innovation Agency.
After much deliberation, the Vice Chancellor announced that the First Lady will be deciding Gabon’s economic future and how the government will make profit in its marketplaces.
“If the need and want for Gabon to further succeed and be taken seriously as a key-player on an international level is not first present in its citizens, no amount of government incentives can change this,” the First Lady said.
“It’ll be down to the Agency of Growth and Innovation to ensure, through collaboration with other agencies and the Lords council, that we are doing our utmost to instil a sense of national pride into our citizens.”
“Without proper cash-backed initiatives to allow the people of Gabon to feel part of the nation, I cannot envision immediate success within the agency’s work.”
“With my own personal background in economics and finance as well as with the local XP industry in Gabon, I can assure you the agency will advocate and fight its hardest for the betterment of Gabon through key pieces of legislation and financial opportunities to provide growth to both the glorious nation of Gabon and her citizens.”
Housing and Urban Development Agency
The Vice Chancellor also announced an appointment to the Housing and Urban Development Agency.
Former councillor Zyra_Bot now sits as its head.
“I’m grateful for my appointment to the agency and I look forward to working with other Cabinet Office members”, Zyra_Bot said.
“I have already worked with the Head of the Growth and Innovation Agency around some long term projects that hope to continue Gabon’s prosperity.”
“We hope to revitalise the city with new boroughs that help ease the shortage on housing as well as establish new ports for shipping foreign goods and exporting Gabonese produce.”
“In the long term, we hope to establish a new political district for domestic public servants and embassies for our foreign friends.”
“And perhaps even a university — there’s a lot in the works at the moment, but everything promises to build upon and further our beautiful nation.”
Gabon understands the appointments are welcomed by citizens who look forward to the new public service delivering upon its promises in due course.
