In an emergency notification, the Gabon Medical Response Team alerted citizens that a new cluster of Covid-19 cases has been identified in Melbourne ending the 3-month window of freedom from infection.

Swiftly responding, the executive administration has placed Melbourne under quarantine with immediate effect.

This means that all travel in and out of the suburb is severely restricted.

Residents of Melbourne have been required not to leave their home, with the government promising to provide food, water and financial aid over the coming weeks.

“This swift action was necessary to ensure we do not have a long-lasting outbreak that gets out of control”, the Lord High Chancellor said.

The Gazette understands that this infection likely came from an immigrant who recently entered the country.

The health department declined to comment.
