Gabon is currently going to the polls as of the 11th in the first Council elections in nearly a year, with incumbents facing fresh faces in a race to lead the future of Gabon — and with only three seats up for grabs between six candidates we are watching the draw closely.

The Lord High Chancellor, called the elections on the 4th of September marking the end of Coronavirus legislation that put a hold on elections.

Newcomers to Gabon such as Tiddy1806 and Rclman have been endorsed by both the Gabon National Party and Shadowwyn Company, giving them an edge in the voting booth. Shadowwyn Company is also endorsing one of their own, Vemredat. With the other candidates are running as independents

So what do the polls tell us about what will happen in this Council election and who is on track to win?

Here’s what you need to know

The Gazette has used their accurate polling data to provide an exit poll for the election results:

CandidatePredicted result
Tiddy180684.6%
RclMan69.2%
Jamie53.8%
Vemredat53.8%
Zyra_Bot23%
Skullicus15.3%

It is clear that Tiddy1806 and Rclman are strong picks for councillor. It is nearly without a doubt that Tiddy1806 shall be returned to his seat in the council, a seat which he held for mere days before the election was called.

Given that there are only 3 seats up for election, any vote could tip the scale in the favour of any candidate vying for the third seat on the council.

The election concludes on Sunday 13th of September, and we will bring you full coverage of the results.
