In a tight race to office, two new national representatives have been returned to the Adinan national assembly.
After 18 votes were counted by officials, Onederful and SkrrtCobain (Evann) have been declared elected to office.
Onederful received the most first preference votes of any candidate.
But the race was much closer for the second position. After votes were distributed, Aleh was eliminated from the race and SkrrtCobain won the position with a single vote.
“I think that all candidates were very strong this election which is why the results were so close,” matanic1107, the uncontested presidential candidate, said.
“I give my congratulations to those who won.”
Judges tied, decided by new Assembly
The election for judges was also a tight race, with the vote tied between Orinnari and Pamaxwell.
As the Adina Constitution was silent on how to decide a tie, officials first sought the candidates’ consent to draw the result randomly. But the candidates rejected this decision method, and the Assembly instead voted internally on the winner.
Without releasing the votes cast in the deciding election, the Assembly announced that Pamaxwell had been returned to the position.
Results welcomed by new government
“My opponents both ran amazing campaigns and I’m glad I was able to go up against them,” Onederful said.
“I’m grateful that people were able to relate to my messages of peace and prosperity.”
“I know Adina has a bright future and I’m so glad to be a part of it.”
The President also welcomed the results.
“Adina will be working on fulfilling our top most priorities, this includes branching out and streamlining our XP trade network, improving the newer districts of our capital. We’re also going to be strengthening our transport network with several projects under construction,” matanic1107 said.
The Gazette understands that projects will include the construction of:
- a university campus designed by Slushhi, the President of Bloom;
- skyscrapers designed by Onederful, to bring a compact and modern ambiance to the newer area of Adina City; and
- an ice road to Alexandria.
No comment was made concerning the completion of Adina’s section of the Salisbury–Adina City rail line under a gentleman’s agreement between Gabon and Adina. Gabon has completed its portion of the construction work under this agreement.
