The number of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Gabon has now reached 8, the government has confirmed.
It is a jump of five cases since Thursday — the biggest increase in a single day. More than 260 people have been tested, citizens and visitors alike.
The latest number of confirmed cases comprises 8 cases in Gabon, one in the borough of Venice, two in Bakerswood and five in the capital borough of Salisbury.
While five of the confirmed cases have been self-isolating at home, three others have been receiving medical treatment in the Hackney secondary school which was closed earlier this month to be used as a quarantine centre.
Earlier, the Lord’s Council pledged to spend 35% of the Sovereign Fund on urgent work to tackle the coronavirus — including more funds to assist in developing a vaccine and material aid to help some of the most vulnerable countries in the minus minus prepare for an outbreak of their own.
Government officials warn of ‘rapid spread’
Meanwhile in Varkonia, the Red Duke has stated it is “highly likely the virus is going to spread in a significant way”.
The Lord High Chancellor told reporters this morning “the government is taking all precautions necessary to halt the spread of Covid-19, we predict a slowdown in cases as stricter quarantine measures bear fruit”.
“We anticipate a more rapid spread in neighbouring countries such as Varkonia or Bloom where preventative measures have been delayed, but citizens should rest assured we are working in tandem with our counterparts to ensure the number still remains below manageable levels.”
Throughout the Grand Duchy of Varkonia, the number of coronavirus cases has now passed 107, with 19 deaths and 12 recoveries.
The government has updated its advice for Kaiserriech — the province in Varkonia that has been hit worst by the virus, and which has seen more than 63 cases. The province recorded another five deaths on Friday, bringing the total number of cases up to 13.
Travellers who develop symptoms after returning from northern provinces such of that as Kaiserriech, Westmore or certain parts of Nevrast should self-isolate, while those returning from quarantined areas should self-isolate even without symptoms, doctors say.
Buildings close as King goes missing
VarkoniaXP is closing its operations for the week after it was discovered that an Icenian-based employee who visited last week has been diagnosed with the virus. Members of the co-operative have been told stay home for the week and contact relevant authories if they display any symptoms.
A church in South Shields, a borough of Salisbury, has been closed for a deep clean after a parishioner tested positive for Covid-19.
Questions mount at the latest Varkonian Senate inquiry as the King of Nox has still not been seen in the public eye since coming down with an illness last monday.
