In just a few hours, joint Varkonian and Gabonese forces have brought an end to the civil war that started this morning.

The Grand Prince has been captured and imprisoned by Varkonia.

Declaring that the war has ended, BritishWanderer said the Grand Prince “has acted as a tyrant for too long and today the provincial assembly voted in support of a coup to stop these acts.”

“We shall revoke our declaration of independence and formally rejoin the Grand Duchy of Varkonia.”

A temporary border closure has been enforced by the interim military government, and will remain in force for 24 hours. Only citizens of member-nations of the United Northern Congress are permitted to be present in Gabon without a cavity search.

Church roof found on floor

Major damage has been sustained by a local church that was targeted by bombing raids in the initial part of the conflict.

Members of the St Varkanos church in Salisbury have told the Gazette that they are “shocked” and “seriously disappointed” by the targeting of their place of worship.

A spokesperson for the Varkonian military told the Gazette that “while it is regrettable that a local civilian site be damaged by the war, there was a military necessity to its destruction”.

The Gazette understands that the church housed several loyalists who used it as a meeting place to plot against BritishWanderer and his alliance forces.

No charges have been laid, and interim military government officials inform the Gazette that these treasonous actions will be treated as honest mistakes.
